In other news, I greatly enjoyed watching the new Star Trek movie. But there was one part I wasn’t all that fond of: The new enterprise. They did a very good job on making a nice saucer section and nacelles. But the entire engineering hull seemed a bit rushed.

So I decided to see if I can make a better design that also looks more like it could be related to the original wessel.

This is what I’ve got so far:

I found a snow leopard in my mailbox this morning. I’m installing it on my macbook at this very moment. I’ll see if everything works as it should and then I’ll upgrade my workstation.

I’ve also started a new blog which will teach users how Mac OS X works. I am however focussing on a dutch speaking audience, so the blog is in dutch. It can be found here.

I’ve also made a promis to myself to start drawing more. I hope I can keep it up this time. I’ve collected all of my art/sketch books that were still in my parents’ house.

I am still alive and twitching. I need to stop having these long breaks between blog posts but things have been pretty busy for me these past few months.
My girlfriend and I went on a search for a place of our own. After finding it I spent most of my time looking for kitchen applicances, furnuture, insurance, …
I was shocked when I started packing. I never dared to imagine that I could stuff so many things in such a tiny bedroom. It took forever to pack. Not everything has been moved yet and I doubt that I’ll ever manage to move everything.
We’re still waiting for our curtains. So right now we’ve got paper sticking to the windows to keep our privacy but once the curtains are in place things should be more comfortable. The seats haven’t been delivered yet either. I think I’m going to start bombarding the store with phone calls so that the seats get delivered quickly.
The local Ikea store was also raided by us. I hope that they’ve managed to recover from our raid
Most evenings we come home, cook, clean and watch some tv. We’re too tired to manage anything else. I’m sure things will go a lot smoother within a few weeks. I’ve allready noticed that we’re starting to create our own daily routine.
I don’t quite feel like putting many pictures online of the appartment, It is a somewhat private part of my live. However I have put a picture next to this post of our two permanent house guests. I don’t like the look in the eyes of the rabbit. I might upload a picture of my workspace at a later time.
Also my car has passed the 10000km mark this weekend, so cheers are quite appropriate right now!

It’s been ages since I’ve done something like this but I’ve actually managed to draw something, scan it and color it! Now I remember why I don’t make cartoons anymore. It just takes too much time to make one of these in color! If I ever decide to make cartoons again they’ll be in black and white. Tracing images in illustrator isn’t that difficult it seems. Certainly much faster than in photoshop. I call this creation ‘james bored’, because he looks like a secret agent who’s bored! Hah!

In other news, I took the day of tomorrow. I have a fun days left and I plan to take them before the end of the year. I haven’t fully figured out yet what I’m going to do tomorrow, but sleeping is part of it  Hahahahahahaha!

I have a little book that I always take with me. In this book I make notes, sketches, … The book contains all of the ideas that tend to pop in my mind. You could say that this book is a reflection of myself.

It’s not filled with ‘Da Vinci’ like artwork or bible-like statements. Nothing has also been erased form this book, no pages were torn out. Everything in it is roughly and quickly made. I tend to forget my original idea if I do not write it down quickly. I’ve lost way too many ideas this way.

So this  august my girlfriend an I went to france. To the South of Normandy. We saw many beautiful buildings and sights. I was most impressed with Rouen and the view of the Seine from the côte des deux amants.

Deux amants means two lovers in french (I hope I got this right). There was a story about that place. Legend tells a story of a king who did not want his daughter to get married. They could only wed his daughter if they would carry his daughter up a giant steep mountain. Many had tried and all had failed. 

One day the daughter falls in love. She tells the man of a potion which will give him the strength to carry her up the mountain. They begin their voyage to the top and they almost made it. But right before they reached their destination they both fell of the mountain and died.

It’s quite sad actually now that I think of it …

My girlfriend and I did reach the top. But I also cheated, I used my car and the road that led up the mountain
