I’ve started work on the neck which connects the saucer to the main hull. I’ve also added some extra windows to the underside of the saucer.

And they say young people can’t cook!

In other news, I greatly enjoyed watching the new Star Trek movie. But there was one part I wasn’t all that fond of: The new enterprise. They did a very good job on making a nice saucer section and nacelles. But the entire engineering hull seemed a bit rushed.

So I decided to see if I can make a better design that also looks more like it could be related to the original wessel.

I’ve recently restarted rebuilding one of my older 3D models. Most of the detail on the model was done through texturing. Now I’ve decided to model the hull grid and windows. I am also rebuilding several larger parts of the model. The texturing will also be replaced. This is what I’ve managed to come up with so far:
